Gregory J. Loan

VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Gregory J. Loan is an experienced engineer and innovator with a history of combining creativity and state-of-the-art technology to develop cutting edge products and solutions in a variety of fields including healthcare, robotics and special effects.

 

Prior to joining Lumenix, Greg was the senior engineer at SIMPeds at Boston Children’s Hospital (“BCH”), a Harvard Medical Teaching Hospital which boasts the largest pediatric research center of any hospital in the world. In this role, Greg leveraged artificial intelligence, computer vision, and 3‑D printing to drive advancements in healthcare simulation, risk management and hospital safety.

 

At Vecna Robotics, Gregory was a key player on the development team responsible for the successful international launch of ​“QCBot”, an autonomous hospital courier robot. This robot laid the groundwork for many other successful robots in current use by FedEx, CAT, the US Military, and NASA.

 

As a special effects artist, Gregory worked on several blockbuster projects building animatronic characters for Universal Studios and Walt Disney World (e.g. Harry Potter & Jurassic Park).

 

Gregory holds a BA degree from Framingham State University, and an ALM master’s degree from Harvard University, where he was the recipient of the Klein Prize.
